Who Belongs to the Nassau Dems
The Nassau County Democratic Party is comprised of a diverse group of individuals who share a commitment to progressive values and social justice. Membership includes local residents, elected officials, community activists, and party leaders who advocate for policies that benefit the community as a whole.
Citizens from various backgrounds, professions, and demographics are encouraged to join, contributing their unique perspectives and experiences to the party's mission. Membership is open to anyone who aligns with the core principles of the Democratic Party, including equity, inclusivity, and community engagement.
Active participation through volunteering, attending meetings, and engaging in local campaigns is integral to the organization, fostering a collaborative environment where all voices are heard and valued.
Who We Are
We are first of all, Democrats. We are also Nassau County residents who come from every state and nation. We look out for each other. We are not afraid to be different, because our diversity makes us stronger.
What We Do
The Nassau County Democratic Party is committed to promoting the values of equity, justice, and opportunity for all residents of our community. We engage in grassroots organizing, advocate for progressive policies, and support candidates who align with our vision for a fairer society. Our mission includes mobilizing voters, providing resources for civic engagement, and fostering dialogue on important issues affecting our county. Through collaboration and community involvement, we strive to create a government that works for everyone.
The purpose of the Nassau County DEC is to discharge the affairs of the Florida Democratic Party within Nassau County, in cooperation with and under the leadership of, the state and national organizations of the Democratic Party by:
Representing the interests of the members of the Democratic Party of Nassau County;
Expanding the Democratic electorate in Nassau County;
Promoting voter registration and voter turnout during elections;
Protecting election integrity and voter security in conjunction with the Supervisor of Elections;
Organizing community efforts to defend Democratic ideals of social, racial, economic and environmental justice;
Identifying, training, and supporting Democratic candidates running for office;
Promoting awareness of ballot initiatives and legislative issues;
Identifying and training Democrats to support candidates by running their campaigns.
Encouraging contributions to and raising funds for the Nassau County Democratic Party and Nassau County Democratic candidates.
